Frank Piller is known around the world as a leading expert on open innovation and mass customization.

Frank Piller is the Professor of the Management, Technology & Innovation group at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, one of the world’s leading institutes of technology.

In addition Frank Piller is the Co-Director of the smart customization group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MiT) USA, which is focused on improving the ability of companies to efficiently customize products, services and experiences in multiple industry sectors. Before leading the innovation efforts at RWTH Aachen, Frank Piller was a research fellow at the MiT Sloan School of Management, USA.

Frank Piller has authored and co-authored various articles and books which have been awarded multiple research prizes. Frank Piller is regularly quoted major publications in The Economist and the New York times as a global innovation expert and is a top 20 author for the MiT Sloan Management Review.
